DALLAS BUYERS CLUB - Universal

Dallas Buyers ClubMatthew McConaughey gives the performance of his career in this uplifting and powerful film inspired by true events. Texas cowboy Ron Woodroof (McConaughey) sees his free-wheeling life overturned when he's diagnosed as HIV-positive and given 30 days to live. Determined to survive, Woodroof decides to take matters in his own hands by tracking down alternative treatments from all over the world by means both legal and illegal. After finding an unlikely ally in Rayon (Jared Leto), he establishes a hugely successful "buyers' club" and unites a band of outcasts in a struggle for dignity and acceptance that inspires in ways no one could have imagined.

DR JEKYLL & MR HYDE - Kino Lorber

Doctor Henry Jekyll's enthusiasm for science and his selfless acts of service have made him a much-admired man. But as he visits Sir George Carew one evening, his host criticizes him for his reluctance to experience the more sensual side of life. Sir George goads Jekyll into visiting a music hall, where he watches the   dancer Gina. Jekyll becomes fascinated with the two contrasting sides of human nature, and he becomes obsessed with the idea of separating them. After extensive work in his laboratory, he devises a formula that does indeed allow him to alternate between two completely different personalities, his own and that of a brutish, lascivious person whom he names Hyde. It is not long before the personality of Hyde begins to dominate Jekyll's affairs.

THE INEVITABLE DEFEAT OF MISTER & PETE - Lionsgate

You can have all the moxie in the world and approach each day with a never say die attitude, but sometimes you need a bit more than that in order to succeed.  With 13 year old Mister's mom having been picked up by the police, that leaves he and 9 year old Pete to bounce from place to place all the while hiding from child protective services. Did I mention this takes place in Brooklyn?  With all of the forces stacked against them, this is a brilliant story against all odds for success.

WINGS - Lionsgate

With the most prestigious airshow in the world coming up soon, young aircraft fighter - Ace - reaches out to the best to train him.  Ace is determined to be the next champion and with the Colonel training him, he feels he has the competition in the bag.  What Ace and the Colonel don't know is that Cyclone, another flyer, has his sights set on the trophy as well and he will stop at nothing to win. Great for kids of all ages!

THE LADY VANISHES - BBC

A stunning new adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1930s thriller sees a beautiful, spoiled young woman risk her life to solve the mysterious disappearance of a woman on a train. Iris Carr  is travelling across Europe by train when she unwittingly becomes embroiled in a sinister Balkan plot. Feeling disorientated after a fall, Iris is befriended by Miss Froy, an elderly English woman sharing her carriage. But when she wakes up from a short sleep, Miss Froy has vanished without a trace. As fellow passengers claim the lady never existed, Iris fights to discover what actually happened – and prove that she's not going crazy. Or is she?

BURTON AND TAYLOR - BBC

Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West star as Hollywood's most famous volatile on-again-off-again lovers. Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor had one of the most fascinating, glamorous and tempestuous relationships of the 20th century - the two most famous movie stars of their day who played out every high and low of their love affairs, multiple marriages and divorces right in the public eye. Burton and Taylor follows their private and public relationship played out against their ill-fated appearance in a 1983 revival of Noel Coward's stage play, Private Lives. Tempestuous, funny, and dripping with diamonds - this is the last battle of the Burtons.
